Malaysian pianist Su Qi Yong performs internationally as a recitalist. She has made appearances at prestigious venues around the world including Teatro degli Unanimi (Italy, Arcidosso), University of Taipei recital hall & concert hall (Taiwan), Eslite Performance Hall (Taiwan), Chinese High School's Recital Hall (Batu Pahat, Malaysia), Tsun Jin High School (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Foon Yew High School Auditorium (Johor Bahru, Malaysia) and Interharmony International Music Festival.

Su Qi has attended Interharmony International Music Festival in Italy with Professor Liao in 2013, and participated in a master class presented by pianist Marian Hahn. In 2016, she attended Euro Music Festival in Germany in summer and studies with Roland Kruger and Bernd Goetzke.

Su Qi began her music studies at age 17, receiving training in Malaysia, Taipei, and the United States. After two years of study, in 2010 she achieved the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 with merit. She was also awarded the Trinity Guildhall Advanced Level Graded Examination in Music Literacy Grade 6 Theory of Music with merit.

Su Qi studied at the University of Taipei with Pei-Chun, Liao and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. In 2015, she accepted a high scholarship from the University of Wyoming to study with Dr. Chi-Chen Wu, earning her Performance Certificate. Su Qi’s professors say that she is an exceptional student and is one of few pianists who has been able to excel despite beginning her training relatively late in life (in her teens). As an undergraduate piano student, she enrolled in collaborative piano classes each semester, working with vocalists and other instrumental musicians, in addition to two years of participation in the school orchestra and choir. She performed with the choir at Taiwan National Hall and with the orchestra at ZhongShan Hall. During her graduate studies in Laramie, WY, she had the opportunity to accompany the choir and monitor the choir during rehearsals.

Su Qi has been teaching piano since 2012. Her specialty is levels K-12 levels, and she excels at making lessons fun while still providing students with a solid foundation in music concepts and theory. Her favorite composer is J. S. Bach, who was an intelligent, influential composer and expert improviser. Bach influenced composers such as Beethoven, Haydn, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. His music looks easy but is difficult to master. Bach's music has inspired Su Qi from the beginning of her piano study and is the reason why she fell in love with the eighty-eight black and white keys of the piano.
