Amber Adams graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado Christian University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education. While at CCU, Amber was involved in almost every ensemble the university offered, including University Choir, Handbell Ensemble, Drumline, University Wind Ensemble, and Mainstream Jazz Band, holding principle chair positions in the latter two. She was involved in six tours with these ensembles, covering much of the western United States. She now teaches general music, choir, and handchimes at Walnut Hills Elementary in the Cherry Creek District.

Amber started her first instrument, the flute, around the age of 10 and held principle chair positions from middle through high school. In her sophomore year of high school, Amber was asked to learn the euphonium and trombone as a service to the marching and jazz bands. She picked these up so quickly that they soon became her primary instruments, earning her a performance scholarship and two primary chair/section leader positions at CCU.

Although performance is a huge part of her life, teaching is really at the center of what Amber loves to do. She believes that music is one of the few mediums that can make an impact on everyone, regardless of talent in the subject. Therefore, it is the duty of those who have been given this gift to develop and use it to his or her best ability. Because of this belief, Amber’s teaching style is tailored to develop and showcase each student’s individual strengths while laying a solid groundwork for areas of improvement.
