Piano

Jared Fisher began playing the piano at the age of three. He started performing in halls, theaters, and auditoriums, at the age of five. His love for playing the piano grew as he learned new songs and styles. Jared has always composed his own music, over his youth he generated countless arrangements. Throughout middle school and high school he learned clarinet, trumpet, percussion, and guitar. While attending college in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Laramie County Community College, Jared focused his love for piano as his major. LCCC’s jazz band was number one for their talent. Although the school was a community college, they brought tough competition to to the regional universities, such as University of Wyoming, Colorado University, and Denver University at the jazz festivals. LCCC was well know for their superior music department and instructors. Jared attended workshops with modern composers, John Corigliano and John Adams, who he met through LCCC, a once in a lifetime opportunity. LCCC’s jazz band performed in many venues in Cheyenne replicating the sound of the big band era of the 1930s and 1940s, where Count Bassie and Glenn Miller bands performed.

Jared’s finest memory of this school was performing charts on the piano composed by Sammy Nestico, and singing in the Brahms Requiem, as a tenor in the choir. Steven Altop the conductor of the Chicago Symphony, was flown in to direct this event. Over 150 vocal majors from around regional Universities gathered in the Cheyenne Civic Center to rehearse ten hours with the orchestra. These 9 movements were to be perfect, and all sung in German. Jared graduated with honors of Deans List every semester, and was a featured artist of LCCC’s music department.

Throughout the years he has played in numerous bands, shared the stage with many talented acts, such as Collective Soul, CCR, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and War. While attending University of Montana, he played in bands headlining weekend shows at outdoor festivals. Jared has also produced scores for independent movies, a new love of composing music for film. Recently he just finished his newest album recorded and produced in his own home, “Wilderness,” and recorded a piano album, “Grand Piano Session” in a studio in Denver. The biggest goal in his life is to never stop performing and to teach students how to play for the love of music. Jared believes in adapting to each students unique way of learning, and is open minded to what each student prefers to learn.
