Guitar, Bass
Ty Govern has been playing and performing music for over 15 years, and has been teaching guitar, bass, and beginner piano since 2013. His passion lies primarily in contemporary music (particularly rock, classic rock, hip hop, and pop), which led him to pursue a B.S. in Music Business from the University of Colorado at Denver, where he studied Jazz and Classical Guitar as well.
Ty's previous teaching experience includes working as an instructor at a local music studio, where he worked with some of the most talented teenage musicians in Colorado and directed the House Band. Highlights included helping his students to showcase their talents on the Red Rocks stage, as well as taking them on tour to play at Summerfest in Milwaukee in 2018. He has also been performing with the 90's alternative rock cover band, The B Sides, since 2015. Currently, aside from giving private lessons, Ty teaches Music Business classes at the Community College of Aurora; works for the concert promotion company, AEG; instructs after-school rhythm and percussion classes through Sound Formation; and writes and records his own music.
Ty finds great joy in teaching, striving to nurture his students' curiosity for the music they love, and watching their passion grow through that process. He caters lessons to each student's individual needs, interests, and goals, thoughtfully planning each step along the path towards success!
