Deborah Liles is a professional jazz and adult contemporary songwriter, singer, and recording artist. Her style is reflective of Diana Krall, Sade, Adele, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, and other female vocal talents. At a young age, Deborah started studying Ella Fitzgerald, The Manhattan Transfer, Stevie Wonder, and every other great pop artist, to develop techniques to improve her singing and performing. The process has never stopped for her, and she has an impressive performance and teaching career as a result. She is dedicated to helping artists of all ages, styles, and levels to reach great potential in their vocal, performance, recording & production, and songwriting talent.

Deborah has a BFA from VCU in Richmond, Virginia in Music and Theater, and some graduate jazz vocal course work at New York University. She is currently working on the completion of her Master of Music in vocals, recording, and production. She performs nationwide, and highlights of her career include Jazz at Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center. She believes firmly in teaching and doing. She trains any student to embrace the same by helping find them performances to enhance the training process.

She has worked with great artists, including Keith Howland (Chicago lead guitarist), Ray Cadell, Jeff Todd, and Robbie Dummit, Deborah has performed for audiences including Laura Bush Staff, Robert Duvall, Marvin Hamlisch, Bill Gates, David Foster, Hampton Jazz Festival, The Broadmoor, The Greenbrier, and Black Dog Jazz. Also, she was voted Virginia's Platinum Vocalist from 2002-2005.

Deborah is a great teacher because she gives the student proper technique in breathing, dynamics, control, the vocal belt, consistency, and creativity. She then builds upon the foundations to bring out a truly unique, creative, vocal musician and performance artist. She produces, writes for and with, and records all students during training, and focuses of the inner circle of the music business as well. Her students are exquisitely trained and know their business. Students can expect lots of exercises, interval and ear training, working with microphones and equipment, stage and performance work, theory, and individual style.
