Clarinet, Bass clarinet, Saxophone, Flute

Olivia Caldwell has been playing the clarinet since she was 12 years old, and fell in love quickly with music. Throughout the years she has also learned to play flute (since 2009), oboe (since 2012) and saxophone (since 2012), and has been known to dabble in brass instruments as well. She also has a background in lower woodwinds such as bass clarinet and tenor saxophone, and a mastery of basic piano and voice skills.

Olivia obtained her Bachelors in Music with an emphasis in instrumental music in the spring of 2014 from West Texas A&M University. While in college, she was in the Mighty Buffalo Marching Band for four semesters, and in the wind ensemble, concert band and symphonic band. She also was a member of Tau Beta Sigma, the band service sorority, where she served as the Corresponding Secretary for the 2012-2013 school year. Currently, Olivia is working on her Masters of Music Education through Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She decided to go into teaching because of her wonderful experiences with her own band directors and lesson teachers throughout both junior high and high school. If it were not for passionate, wonderful teachers, she would have never had the ambitious drive to pursue teaching herself. Olivia’s one career goal is to pass on that passion and love for music to students of her own, and hopefully, help create future music educators and musicians as her directors did for her.
