Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo, Piano, Voice, Bass Guitar, Trumpet

Brody Montoya began his musical journey at a very young age. He took up guitar at the age of 5 and piano at the age of 11. Brody began performing concerts and festivals with groups in his hometown, and earned a spot playing guitar/keys/vocals with the house band for Sevigny Studio in Anchorage, AK. He left Alaska to pursue his education at Berklee College of Music, and obtained his Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Jazz Composition in 2015.

While in college, Brody performed and recorded with many diverse groups, and began his career in commercial composition when he started his music advertising business, Montoya Music House. After several years as a composer, he began teaching Music Theory and Guitar courses as an instructor at Elms College. Later, he moved to Denver where he currently works as a composer at Montoya Music House, teaches private lessons, and plays solo guitar/singer-songwriter materials around the area.

Some of Brody's influences are Thelonius Monk, Igor Stravinsky, and Alice in Chains. He believes that exposure to diverse genres and world music is crucial to the development of a musician. He also believes that musicianship is not kindled only through notes on a page, but through the creativity of the student. He puts a strong emphasis on music theory and improvisational studies during lessons, to not only strengthen the student's abilities on their instrument, but to bring out each student's creativity and help find their personal style of playing.
