A native of Denver, Colorado, Justin Doute' studied at both the Denver School of the Arts for Music and the Manhattan School of Music. While an undergraduate, he overcame three leukemia diagnoses and later completed his Bachelor’s in Music Performance at the University of North Florida. His awards include winning the Aspen School of Music Solo Percussion Competition, the Denver Philharmonic’s Concerto Competition, and the Manhattan School of Music’s Concerto Competition; most recently he claimed Gold Medal and Grand Prize at Young Texas Artist Music Competition.  He was also was the second-place winner of Blackswamp Percussion Solo Percussion Competition, winner of the Denver Concert Bands Concerto Competition, and Finalist in the PRISMA concerto competition, finalist in Denver Young Artists Orchestra Concerto Competition and he has published music through Bachovich Music competitions.  His scholarships include assistance from the Manhattan School of Music, Cancer for Scholarship program, Student Government Scholarship to the University of North Florida, and a Full Scholarship to Rice University's Masters in Music Program.

Justin currently performs with the Texas Medical Center Orchestra and is a substitute player for the Abilene Philharmonic, the Orlando Philharmonic (Orlando, FL), and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. With pianist Yukino Miyake, he commissions and performs new music for piano and percussion in a the duo titled “JUKINO.”  He currently holds a Bachelors degree from The University of Northern Florida and a Masters degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, both in Percussion Performance. During the summer of 2018 Justin attained the Charlie Owen Scholarship, performing as full time Timpanist in The Aspen School of Music and Festival.
