Andrew Rose is a soulful, expressive performer specializing in the upright and electric basses. He is also a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for teaching others. Interested in music from an early age, Andrew began playing the piano at age eight. Shortly thereafter, he added the clarinet and bass clarinet, and performed with concert bands throughout his childhood. In high school, he added music theory and double bass lessons, studying with Professor Snider of Washington State University from ages 16-18. Andrew then went on to earn his Undergraduate Degree in Music Performance from Western Michigan University in 2012 and a Master's in Music degree from the same school in 2014.

At Western, Andrew studied the double bass under the renowned performer and educator, Tom Knific, for five years. Mr. Rose was a member of two Downbeat award-winning groups, The WMU Jazz Orchestra, who released Travel Notes on BluJazz Records, and Desolation Row, who released the album Remember to Breathe on GVG Records. In 2013, Andrew won an outstanding soloist award when he appeared at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival. He has also appeared as a guest performer at the Monterey Jazz Festival in California, the Jazz Education Network conference, University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton Jazz festival, and many more. He has had the opportunity to create music with many great artists, including Roy Hargrove, Joe Lovano, Fred Hersch, Robert Glasper, Edward Simon, Donny McCaslin, Jamey Hadad, John Clayton, Andrew Rathbun, Christian Euman, and The New York Voices.

In 2014, Andrew Rose moved to Denver, CO, where he continues to be a dedicated teacher and active member of the local music community.
