Flute, Piano, Violin, Ukulele
Cali Alexander began playing flute at the age of twelve and progressed quickly, performing in youth orchestra by age fifteen. She began teaching lessons to her peers while still in high school, and has since taught music for a total of fourteen years. Cali holds both a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in Flute Performance from the University of Arkansas. She has successfully taken pedagogy courses in all of the major band and orchestra instruments, along with piano courses and choir.
Cali has performed a variety of styles – classical, Latin, Asian, Jazz, and contemporary. In additional to classical flute, Cali studies the honkyoku repertoire of shakuhachi (the Japanese bamboo flute of Zen). Her teaching style is influenced by a variety of methods, arts, and instructors, but hard-work and consistency comprise the underlying foundation in achieving students' musical goals.
