Piano
Natalie Haas has loved music for as long as she can remember and is passionate about sharing that love with others. Even as a child, she couldn’t keep her hands off the piano, and at the age of 7 she finally convinced her parents to start her in formal lessons. Her classical training inspired her to continue her musical education by pursuing a degree in music. While attending Heartland Baptist Bible College, Natalie received the Floyd Shexnayder Memorial Award for excellence in studies, and later the Graduate Church Music Award for leadership characteristics.
During her undergraduate studies, Natalie realized that she didn’t just love music - she deeply enjoyed sharing that love with others. In 2011, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance with a focus in Church Music, and has been teaching ever since.
In addition to teaching, Natalie also enjoys performing and singing at her church, but the highlight of her day is seeing a student understand new a musical concept. She understands that every student learns in a different way and strives to find the ideal teaching approach for each individual, catering her lesson plans to best suit each student's unique needs, interests, abilities, goals, and learning style.
Natalie teaches children of all ages as well as adults. Her lessons include a solid foundation in theory, technique, and ear training, while also providing students with challenging repertoire pieces to learn. Students will have opportunities (if desired) to play in front of others and showcase what they have learned.
In addition to teaching, Natalie currently plays in congregationals and offertories, sings in choir and ensemble, and assists with the music library at her church.
