Piano
Karyn Estela has taught art, music, private piano, theatre, dance, competitive speech, and ESL, for private and public schools, grades K-12, in Colorado since 1991. She has directed and choreographed student performances in theatre and music grades K-8 as well as instructed general music using Orff and Kodaly methods. Karyn has teaching experience working for an international school in Germany was as a Secondary Arts, IB Diploma level 1 Art teacher, studio art teacher grades 3-12 and ESL and TOEFL teacher grades 3-12. She also has experience with PYP and MYP IB as Performing Arts teacher for
grades Pre-K to 8.
In addition to being a pianist for ballet schools, Karyn has been a draftsman for oil and civil engineers, an assistant to equestrian trainers, and a volunteer docent and artifact researcher for the Educational Department of the Denver Art Museum. She enjoys participating in "Sound Paintings," and creating her own art by painting and writing.
Karyn earned her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Studio Art and minors in Piano Pedagogy and Music Education, and a teaching certificate in Art Education K-12 from the University of Colorado.
Throughout her teaching career Karyn has taught students with learning and physical disabilities, gifted students, and students whose learning styles are unique, traditional, and non-traditional. She has taught students from a variety of cultures and languages.
