Alexa Kilgore is a dynamic voice and guitar coach based in Denver, known for her energetic approach and passion for helping students thrive in any musical genre. A singer, guitarist, songwriter, and board-certified music therapist, Alexa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy with a focus in vocal performance and classical music from Drury University. With over a decade of teaching experience, she offers personalized instruction in voice, beginner and intermediate guitar, and songwriting. Her lessons are tailored to each student’s favorite music and individual goals, creating a highly engaging and motivating learning experience.
Alexa’s background in music therapy—working primarily with teens on the autism spectrum and those facing other challenges—deeply informs her warm, supportive teaching style. She fosters a safe, encouraging space where students can build confidence, develop their skills, and express themselves through music.
Outside the studio, Alexa performs full-time as a folk singer and guitarist at prominent events across Colorado, including weddings, festivals, and corporate engagements. She was the winner of Breck’s Got Talent in 2014. Alexa specializes in teaching healthy vocal techniques across all styles, emphasizing vocal placement, breath support, and strength. She also offers coaching for musical theater, acting, and audition preparation, including for programs like the Denver School of the Arts. A strong advocate for performance experience, Alexa helps musicians of all ages and skill levels find joy and confidence on stage.
