Guitar
According to Vintage Guitar Magazine, Adam Stern is "looking to bring a new sound to instrumental guitar music" and his original songs are "a memorable mix of country, jazz, rock and soul that transcends all genres." Born in the New York City area, Adam became enraptured by the "sounds of the city" at a young age and was an avid concert attendee, checking out everything from jazz concerts at Lincoln Center to punk rock shows at CBGB's. After graduating from New York University in 1995 with a degree in Music Business And Technology, Adam relocated to Colorado and began a performing career in earnest. He has done national tours and recording sessions with prominent Colorado artists such as Casey James Prestwood, Sam Holt, Ben Marshal, and Cowboy Dave. Several songs that Adam played on have been broadcast on Sirius/XM and he has even been on a track with Widespread Panic singer John Bell. Some of the acts Adam has been direct support for include Dickey Betts (Allman Brothers Band), Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic), 7 Walkers (featuring Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead), Karl Denson, Marty Stuart, David Allan Coe, Lukas Nelson (Willie's son), and Bill Frisell.
More important to Adam than his personal success, however, is his love for teaching and sharing his knowledge of music.
As a music educator, Adam has spent several years teaching individual and group lessons in Denver, as well participating in a summer performance program for young musicians. He also spent two years in Delray Beach, FL as the head guitar instructor at SoFlo Music School working with students from ages 5 to 75. Adam's teaching philosophy is built on precision playing and strong rhythmic fundamentals. Doing things the way "the real guys do it" is an important principle as well. Whether your interests are rock, jazz, blues, pop, country, jambands, metal, punk or folk, Adam draws on decades of musical experience to make your guitar playing as authentic as possible while also maintaining a fun and uplifting musical environment.
