Sarah Butler has been playing the flute for over 20 years, and has been singing in choirs just as long. She is passionate about teaching students of all ages and inspiring each one to become the best musician and person they can be.

Sarah holds a Master of Music degree in Music Education with a Kodaly Emphasis from Colorado State University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. There, she was the principal flautist in the Civic Orchestra and Wind Ensemble for three years, and also performed in numerous opera pit orchestras, woodwind quintets, and other small ensembles. She was accepted into Pi Kappa Lambda, a National Music Honor Society, and Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education.

Sarah has been a K-5 general music teacher with Aurora Public Schools since 2014, and spent two years teaching in IL (her home state) prior to coming to Colorado. Having taught private lessons since 2012, she enjoys being able to truly tailor her teaching to each individual student.

At school and in private lessons, she strives to teach not only the essential elements of music and the mechanics of playing an instrument, but also life skills such as perseverance, self-discipline, and critical thinking skills. She tailors her approach to match each students' learning style and personality, so they have a positive and successful experience.
