Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Violin, Piano
Harrison began his musical journey at a very young age, and has been playing the piano and guitar even before his first formal lessons at age 8. While studying classical piano, the guitar and bass guitar grabbed his interest and led him to explore more stringed instruments. By age 14, Harrison was playing classical piano, guitar, and double bass. Soon, jazz and commercial music became additional areas of interest and focus. Within a few years, Harrison began to play professionally across his home state of Alabama.
While continuing to perform, Mr. Wallace began teaching both private lessons and high school music courses. As an undergraduate at the University of Alabama, he studied music performance on the double bass in both the classical and jazz departments. As a graduate student, Harrison obtained his Masters degree in American Studies, focusing on American music history.
Harrsion teaches all stringed instruments, as well as beginning guitar and piano. His lessons also incorporate music theory and history, giving students a well-rounded, contextual understanding of the music they love.
