Guitar, Voice, Piano, Bass
Jordan Ramos is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, and pianist from Houston, TX. His passion for music stems from listening to his dad's classic rock vinyl collection as a child. Throughout middle and high school, he developed his singing skills through voice lessons, acapella groups, and varsity choir. In college, he discovered the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, which became the foundation of his identity as a guitarist. Jordan relentlessly practiced guitar and learned the ins and outs of writing, recording, and releasing music.
The result was his first two projects, "Aspen St." (2021) and "Way Back" (2022), which showcase his abilities in writing, recording, and disseminating original singer/songwriter and folk-rock music.
Having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Middlebury College, he became well-versed in music theory, performance, and production. After graduating, he formed his band "Million Dollar Red," a southern rock group infusing psychedelic, blues, and classic rock styles. Their first project, "No Money," was part of Jordan's senior thesis, which involved writing, recording, and releasing an EP. After a year of performing at classic venues around Houston, such as The Continental Club, House of Blues, and Dan Electro's, they released their 2024 single "Cruising."
Since early 2023, Jordan has taught guitar, voice, and piano to students of all ages. After teaching hundreds of lessons, his philosophy is simple: the goal is to understand the language of music and the mechanics of the instrument to the extent that we can effectively express ourselves with creative freedom, learn music with precision, and communicate the language of the soul. Jordan's lessons are fun, detailed, and focused on music theory, philosophy, and technique basics. Once students move beyond the "beginner" threshold, the lessons become more rigorous in expectation and fulfilling in results.
