Sam Kupernik is a passionate musician who has been playing the drums since the age of 12. Before that, she was playing trumpet in the school band. After picking up the sticks in 2007, Sam involved herself in as much drumming as she could. While playing numerous local gigs with various acts, she studied drums for 3 years under Keith Ewer, a local legend.
Sam studied Digital Audio at Warren Technical Institute, where she learned essential tricks of the trade for live sound, MIDI programing, recording, and producing music. After graduating, Sam hit the road on tour! Accomplishing several US tours, she brought back a renewed sense of expertise ready to share with the world! Some acts Sam has performed in include Gomorrah, First Jason, FUBAR, and Black Mantra. Some acts Sam has opened for include Exodus, Doro Pesch, Municipal Waste, Iron Regan, Exhumed, Prong, and many more!
Sam describes herself as primarily a Rock/Metal drummer, but continues to venture into other styles, such as Jazz, Blues, Funk, Prog, and many more. A few of her biggest influences include Nick Menza, George Kollias, John Bonham, Vinnie Colaiuta, Sal Abruscato, Dennis Chambers, Chad Smith, and countless more!
Sam's teaching style incorporates both reading music and ear training. Her method is standardized yet customizable allowing her to effectively connect with all age ranges. She focuses on giving her pupils the tools they need to play whatever their heart desires!
